Vol. 5, no. 2. Hazing Iran: Satellite Imagery, Human Rights, and City as Camp

Keywords: Iran, Tehran, Qom, satellite imagery, smog, politics, Agamben

Abstract: This paper examines the use of satellite imagery in political positioning and public presentations of policy through the prism of Iranian cities. It argues that they encourage the visual erasure of ‘the human’ and that consequently, an urgent and deeply politicized reading of their structures, narratives and spatial representative techniques is increasing important.
