Dr Graham Cairns, UK, has taught at Universities in Spain, the UK, Mexico, South Africa and Gambia. He has worked in architectural studios in London and Hong Kong. The author and editor of five books, he has delivered keynotes talks internationally and has published multiple articles on architecture, film and advertising in peer-reviewed journals. Previously, he also ran a research based performing arts company, Hybrid Artworks, with a specialism in video installation and performance. Head of Research Support: Rachel Isaac-Menard MISt. MA. BSc(hons). MCLIP
Rachel Isaac-Menard is Head of Research Support at AMPS. She oversees Communications and the early careers librarian program. She is also Assistant Professor and Reference Librarian / Emerging Technologies Coordinator at Adelphi University, New York. A Chartered Librarian (MCLIP), she has participated in various publications and research projects. She is the author of refereed articles, and has presented at conferences in North America and the UK. She has a BSc in psychology, MA in art history and MISt in Library & Information Studies (University of Toronto). Her research interests include scholarly communication, information literacy and the training of librarians.

Noreen Y. Whysel is the Social Media Editor/Coordinator for ArchitectureMPS, managing our Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts. She currently works as the Community Manager for the OWASP Foundation. She has worked as freelance nonprofit technology consultant in social media, web operations and research, primarily for the Information Architecture Institute and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Rebecca Feiner is an artist and event organiser with multiple years experience in a range of medias and event types.
Hugh Leonard has been practicing as an architect since the early 1990s. His engagement with the design and construction industries began in the 1980s. His architectural experience lies in residential design, mixed use leisure developments and sport design and. In more recent years, he has focused on design for education. He has been heavily involved in projects financed and supported through BSF (Building Schools of the Future) programme and fully supports the idea that the quality of the spaces we inhabit influences our well-being and success. School design that facilitates learning is the most obvious example of that.
Marc is a member of the Urban Design Group (UDG), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB). He is a qualified Urban Designer & Architect with over 20 years experience in London and the north of England. His early research involved the ‘Study of Development Innovation through Policies and Briefs’ and more theoretical concerns such as the notion of ‘threshold’ as a design concept reflected in our experience and reading of architecture and urban environments. He has worked in both private practice and local Authorities and has recently specialised in the renovation of residential dwellings. He currently runs his own practice.
Mark Hannah is currently Director of Place Construction Limited. He was previously programme leader at the University of Derby and prior to that Project Team Leader at Arkheion Architects Limited. He began his career at Urban Splash Architects. He is an RIBA Part II qualified architect. His experience includes include single family dwellings, multi-residential dwellings, residential mixed-use tower blocks, commercial, leisure, industrial and civil projects. He has experience on all phases of design and construction projects from concept to handover and in administering contracts and planning law. His particular technical speciality is construction and detailing.
